Once again service was superb. But this was the ONLY time that the enterprise employee actually sat in the rental car and showed me how to used everything! Usually, I have to figure it out myself and forbid..read the car manual. Julie was very friendly & quick to get me checked in and on my way......I needed to be picked up and that went as planned. Enterprise said they'd call me first before arriving and they did. We had a great car for a great price and that's why we always use Enterprise
A guaranteed $59, 24 hour, unlimited mileage turned out to be $259. No answer as to why. I won't be using them again.
While we have had pleasant experiences in the past renting from other Enterprise Establishments, the latest was a nightmare. We had negotiated, through our Costco membership, a week long rental for a standard size car at a set price. The Enterprise representative that checked us in was very professional, accommodating and polite. We were told by this representative that, in additon to our negotiated price, we needed to put an extra $100.00 deposit, refundable upon return of the vehicle. That is where our pleasant experience ended. After only briefly driving the car, we had to returned it the next day due to the horrid smell of smoke. We then had to downsize to an intermediate car at a lesser price . While this vehicle was driveable, it too had the ordor of smoke. We purchased an air freshner and was able to keep the car for the remainder of the week. We have now received a receipt from Enterprise charging us more than our original contract, made though Costco, for a smaller car due to their own inventory non availability. When I called for clarification, I encountered an extremely rude Enterprise Representative who very impatiently kept interruputing me as I was trying to explain to him that this was a Costco negotiated deal, a point quite relevant to our contract. Subsequently, my husband contacted an Enterprise Official. Hopefully this issue will eventually be resolved. Point Being Made: Do not expect to get the vehicle you contracted for and expect it to be clean and driveable, especially if you have alergies.
rental spots outside of the airports in Maine are few and far between. I rented from Enterprise in a little town outside of Augusta, Maine. Customer service - I called to complain and advise that 1 day into my week rental the engine malfunction light came on, then the low tire pressure lights came on, one side, then the next. I was met with pretty poor customer service at my call in. "Sorry, no replacement car available and if the car isn't acting up, it's probably just an electrical issue with the dash"..Seriously? This was a new car, and I didn't want to spend my time in Maine dealing with car issues OR worrying about them. This is Enterprise, a car rental company I trusted to provide me with a reliable car for my travels..I had to ask the customer service rep what I should do should the car act up and how to get a replacement - and it was like pulling teeth. Again, seriously? It's his job to provide the customer with concern and instructions, ESPECIALLY if they were closed for the weekend. VERY disappointed as this is not how I have ever been treated by Enterprise over the years..
